    Quicksilver 3000 throttle control

I have a loose throttle arm on a quicksilver 3000 throttle control which is loose. I understand that if I remove the center cap all I have to do is tighten down the nut. Problem is how do you get the center cap off without breaking it. There may be some tabs but I really dont want to be poking around with something I know nothing about. Suggestions?

I haven't seen the part, but from what you describe I'd gather the center cap is round, plastic, and not threaded in.

If it's plastic, I would go with a plastic automotive trim bar - it's like a plastic pry bar of sorts and mechanics use them to remove interior trim pieces. Any auto parts store should have one (or a set). If it's a round center cap, sometimes getting under it on both sides and prying with both at the same time works better than just prying from one side too.
