Opinions Needed Trolling motor mounting question

How does a person mount a bow mount trolling motor on open bow boat?

Our family just upgraded to a larger boat to fit everyone more comfortably and it came with a bow mount trolling motor. The front is open, has a triangular piece of metal in the point maybe 8" deep.

There are holes where it looks like a previous motor was mounted but is that enough support for the trolling motor? It's a 45lb Minn Kota Edge.

I was thinking about finding someone to weld something up to help support the motor while it's stowed. I don't want it bouncing around down the road and prematurely wearing things out.

The Minn Kota Power Drive can be attached to a quick disconnect. If the Edge can be mounted to the same quick disconnect you could remove it each time you are done using the boat so it doesn't bounce around while you're driving down the road.

You can buy a strap that mounts to the floor of your boat, swings up over the trolling motor shaft and back, through a link then attaches with "velcro" to the back half of the strap- keeps the "bounce" at a minimum.
