Cops and Bobbers, Aurora on Saturday Sept 9

The Fort Kearny based Family Fishing Nebraska trailer will be making the trip to AURORA for the inaugural COPS AND BOBBERS Kids Fishing Clinic and Barbecue located at the Leadership Center.

There are 75- 100 Kids predicted to attend the two hour fishing clinic and following barbecue that begins at 9:00 am on Saturday, September 9th.

There will be "stations" set up for dividing the group, including fishing at the available pond.

Volunteers are needed to assist with knot tying, fly fishing; a Fish ID booth from the NEFGA.ORG will be on hand with experts available AND NEEDED to discuss fishes of Nebraska, and even some tips on how to catch 'em.

CYFI Brad Highstreet will be coordinating the Fly Fishing station, volunteers will be most welcome!

Our NGPC Family Fishing Nebraska "colorful trailer" could always use assistance with handing out rods, and putting on the terminal tackle, etc, IF you can help during that 2 hour Clinic, please let us know right here or send an e-mail to and be sure to add what you want to do!

Of course, it's all FREE, and Volunteers will be expected to join in at 11:00 am for the barbecue!
Rich Berthold (@Hookem) is the one that has been working directly with Aurora Police Sgt. Chad Mertz (the Program coordinator for the Aurora "Cops and Bobbers" Event) solidifying details for those activities our NGPC Youth Fishing Program Volunteers will be presenting. 👏 👏

Rich and Barb live in Aurora.

Additional support is needed at the Trailer station for minor reel repair/attach terminal tackle and general casting assistance.

The Organizers will have assistance/support at the pond and will be providing the bait, but additional help would be welcomed!

Two hours on a Saturday morning and a FREE BARBECUE? I can't believe we aren't turning down help...
