Why we collect used fishing line - Photo

My aunt sent this to me not too long ago, this is a real photo from right here in Nebraska. She walked out of her house and this is what she found, directly above her driveway in Tecumseh, one of their friendly birds hanging from mono fishing line. It had picked up some discarded mono to use as nest substrate and strangled itself after becoming entangled.

Our trash really does affect our wildlife and it is so easy for us to prevent things like this from happening. Next time you pick up some fishing line or put mono into the Fishing Line Recycling Bins, remember the animal you may have just saved.
