    Missouri River Clean-up 2017

    Riverfront Marina at Lewis & Clark Landing, Omaha, NE

    We are returning to downtown Omaha on Saturday, May 20th! Together with our community clean-up partners and volunteers like you, we'll be removing tons of trash from the banks of the river. Groups, individuals, and all ages & abilities are welcome. Here's what's happening:

    Volunteers sign-in and begin boarding from the boat ramp at Lewis & Clark Marina and shuttled to pre-scouted locations along the river to pick up tons of trash. All the trash will be gathered by Missouri River Relief crews after lunch and hauled to a central location for sorting and disposal.

    Boats will ferry volunteers to the river banks and islands to pick up trash that has washed up on shore. Other volunteers, including youth groups, can pick up trash along the banks, trails and parking lots. What you get

    Volunteers will receive a free boat ride, t-shirt, trash bags, gloves, and lunch. Life jackets will be provided. What to bring

    Weather and work appropriate clothes. Long pants are preferred. Sturdy shoes or boots. Sunscreen, bug spray, and a re-usable water bottle. Directions and Map

    To the Riverfront Marina at Lewis & Clark Landing From I-480

    Take Exit 4 north onto US 6/Dodge St. (to Qwest Center, Downtown Omaha and Eppley Airfield)

    Turn right on 10th Street at stoplight

    Drive past intersections at Capitol Ave, Cass St., Meca Drive to T-intersection at Cuming St/Abbott Dr

    Take a right on Abbott Dr. and drive to first stoplight at Riverfront Drive

    Turn right on Riverfront Drive and drive to parking lot on left next to the National Park Service office - 601 Riverfront Drive

    Hope you have some large boats or a barge.The area south of the 480 bridge on Ne side looks like a dump. Maybe you could get some of the people living there to help clean up a little?

      I don't have any boats or barges. I am volunteering to help clean up. It should be a fun day on the water!
