    Decorative Duck Decoy

I make decorative duck decoys out of wood (mostly tupelo). Here are pics of my wigeon drake. Wonder if anyone else has this hobby.

    Block of wood rough shaped.

Very cool, a relative of mine used to make them as well, but didn't do any painting, just finished the surface with poly.

When I have issues with painting I often wish I'd left it after the poly stage!

Gorgeous! Mine probably would not look like a duck.

A fair number of carvers that I've seen have things just slightly out of proportion but your work is just right. Well done! Your paint is impeccable as well, truly a thing of beauty. Thank you for sharing this incredible work with us.

I've tried some hand carving in years past, so I have a feel for how challenging that work is. My hat is off to you!
