Question: Angle iron for motor mount

I'm trying to build a super strong trolling motor mount for my canoe. I have a wood one that keeps breaking and I want to build something that will not let me down. My idea is to lay a piece of aluminum angle iron across the gunwales and bolt it down. I would have one side stick out and put a 2x4 on it so I have something to clamp the motor to.
My questions is: where can I buy a piece of aluminum angle iron in Lincoln? I think the size I'm looking for is larger that something home depot or Menards would carry. I'm ok buying a new piece, but if anyone knows of a place that might have scrap pieces, that's even better!

    Thanks,
    GBR

Is there any place that makes aluminum trailers? They might have scrap or be willing to sell you some. IDK, just thinking out loud.

      Come see me at Metalworks
When you have the option, please buy American made. If it does not save your job, it might save mine.

        :yeahthat:

Metalworks has it all. The Welding shop there does great work with aluminum boats as well.
