    Valentine area snow conditions?

Happy New Year all, I am wondering what the snow cover is like in the Valentine area? A buddy and I try to make a late season trip to chase grouse and/or pheasants and curious to know if there currently is any snow in the hills or not. I've found we do ok when there is no snow, a few years ago we went and there was more than we anticipated and it made climbing the hills tough (probably hindered our harvest success as well). I'd call an old colleague at the refuge but they are furloughed right now. Anyway, any snow reports (or general bird reports if willing to give them) is much appreciated. Later this week the temps look decent with lighter wind, so hoping to give it a go then. If we go, will report back how we did. Might have to bring the fishing gear with this year too. Love the forum guys. Thanks

You could give John at Merritt a call, he would know.

Thanks, Was just trying to look for the snow cover map. Knew there was a website with the info but couldn't remember which one. I looked at the traffic cameras too and there appears to be snow in the road ditches and some low and packed in the grass. So not totally snow free for easy hill climbing but not too bad. Refuge roads should be clear anyway.
