      You forgot to mention when fishing for those " ice suckers " be careful not to set your hook into the bottom of the ice. The sensation of a monster crappie lasts a split second until you realize you're snagged.

        I will also add that when the fish is mere inches below the ice, you don't need to to set the hook like a bass angler. You don't have enough line out to absorb the shock of a monster hook set. Especially on a BIG fish.
