    homemade tip-up hole covers

Wondering what you all use to keep your ice holes from freezing over so fast? Gonna be facing some single digit/below zero weather this weekend with my snappers and tip-ups. thinking about using this 1/2in rubbing matting and cutting it into 10x10in squares with hole in the middle for the shaft then a slot leading up to the middle hole.

Carpet samples work really well too especially if you can get old ones for free
