Have had it fried, but want to try a good turtle soup, or stew. Anyone have a good recipe?

How do you clean a snapping turtle? What "parts" do you eat?

Assuming it is a snapping turtle? Split it in half horizontally however you wish. You can use a reciprocating saw, hacksaw, hatchet, or anything available. Peel it apart and you can fillet and eat any muscle inside. It is really that simple. There is actually a lot of edible meat in a turtle and it all tastes about the same regardless of color. Fried is the best but you can also use any fish chowder recipe you find.
