Default Smoker wood

Has anyone ever used mulberry for smoking? Does it work well?

Yes and yes. I have a pile from a branch that fell off of one of our Mulberry trees that I use.

I split it with a hand axe then let it dry. Before I place it in my smoker I soak a half a handful in water for about 30 minutes then place it directly on the lava rocks.

Like any wood for smoking, don't use too much or your meat will taste like smoke instead of just having a hint of smoke to it.

I have used it also and it works fine. Dried wood then water soaked before putting in the smoker. Just split stuff over an inch and throw twigs in whole.
