Yes and yes. I have a pile from a branch that fell off of one of our Mulberry trees that I use.
I split it with a hand axe then let it dry. Before I place it in my smoker I soak a half a handful in water for about 30 minutes then place it directly on the lava rocks. Like any wood for smoking, don't use too much or your meat will taste like smoke instead of just having a hint of smoke to it. |
