Default Is there a section here for CCW............

...And other political "hot topics" Afterall, we are heading into a Presidential election and with all the recent shootings in malls and such these are topics that need to be addressed. I for one like to know just who and what I'm voting for and given that Nebraska is a CCW state I'd like to discuss and learn from other Nebraskans especially those that have their CCW permits.

I can also never get tired of guns and gun topics which is kinda funny since I've bowhunted almost exclusively for about 15 years now.

Just wondering

I suppose, since it is likely to get political, it would go under the politics section.

I am just curious why everything on this forum is put in different areas..

Anyone know? It just seems a bit discombobulated..

For many different reasons. You get used to it after a while and it really is easier to find things once you get acquainted with it all. One of the biggest reasons is that not everybody comes here to read about everything. Hunters will come here and don't care about fishing at all and vice versa. Then people want to talk politics but some people would rather not read about that because they might have a heart condition.

By the way, if you are one of the people who like to read all the threads and want it all in one section, you can use the "new posts" link up top.

Right, we've had nearly 100,000 posts on this forum to date. If we didn't divide it up, all the posts would be in just one long list, all mixed up by subject.

Now, that might be how you radio guys operate, but us nerds here on the internets are very, very precise and organized.

As, Mako, points out, if you like your new posts and threads all scrambled up, you can hit "New Posts" there at the topic and you will get all posts you haven't read yet in a big, messy list, by date and time. Sometimes, when I'm feeling really crazy, I do that, but mostly, that button just scares me!

Also, if you are trying to be really organized and precise, like me, you can hit the "Search" function there and type in exactly what you are looking for and you'll get a list of posts of only that topic. I like that a lot. I get no distractions like posts about shooting elephants in Council Bluffs when I'm looking for say, stuff about my favorite Omaha on-air radio personality;

Tom Becka

I hope that helps!!

Actually, any suggestions you might have on how we might better organize the forum or make it work better, I'd be happy to pass them along !

Thanx!
