Why? He can't win because his team is not a national champion contender. Doesn't matter how many fan votes he gets. I would love to see Suh win, not because he plays for the Huskers, but because he is such a game changing performer, and one of the best players in CFB. Unfortunately, the Heisman hardly ever goes to the best player; it goes to the best player on one of the best teams. I have hated the Heisman since Troy Davis from ISU, who was obviously the best player in the country but happened to play for one of the worst teams, got beat out by Wuerffel from Florida. Ya, that was a long time ago, and it hurts me to stand up for a cyclone, but since then I haven't put any stock into the Heisman "race." Every year it seems the best player is beaten out by a good player from one of the best teams.

It really doesn't matter what we vote for, unless you get a real vote (past winners and some media).
I would love to see him win it, but it isn't going to happen. #1 Pick in the draft will probally happen.

Doesn't the "winner" of the fan voting just get (1) real vote? Suh is a great college player, dont get me wrong, but it's just like Hawkeye said. "He's not on a national champion contender." That paired with the fact the he's not a skill position player on offense or at least a db/kr/pr/part time wr, he hasn't got a chance nationally. If you wanna back the eventual winner, vote for that running back Ingram from Alabama...

only player to rush for 2000 yards in a season and NOT get it...plus, Troy Davis 'only' did it twice...

Still wouldn't it be cool to see him get at least a vote or two? My vote goes to Gerhart of Stanford though...

It would be pretty cool just to see him get the invite to the party.

CJ Spiller isn't on a team thats a national championship contender either and he's number one. It's ridiculous that Suh isn't going to win it. I personally don't think it has anything to do that he plays for Nebraska, it's because he plays DT. Mel Kiper Jr. has him 2nd on his heisman list now though so at least he's getting some love from a few big talking heads on ESPN. I just pray that he gets invited to the ceremony! It would be incredible just to see a DT there.

think it's kind of interesting to see a 'bigger' picture here...

Suh is being locked out of consideration for a few reasonse...first, he's not on a team that's competing for a national championship and frankly has too many losses...

but also because he's a defensive lineman. QB's and RB's just aren't going to vote for this position in enough numbers to ever matter...

In a way, it's somewhat similar to the reasons that teams like Utah can go undefeated and still not be 'voted in' by the establishment for a legit shot at a national championship...

Not a problem for the NU TEAM...but you're seeing how this can 'work' on the basis of other aspects of this sport...

Now say you didnt live in the state of Nebraska. Who is the MOST OUTSTANDING PLAYER in all of college football. Really I hate to say it but damn Tim Tebow is on his way to possibly leading another team to another championship and rocking their opponents on the way.

I hate Tebow but I think he is more deserving than Suh.

Dont get me wrong Suh is a pimp though for sure. I just think many of the Husker fans are biased and not looking at the big picture.

So, if Florida wins the national championship, and the heisman goes to the best player on Florida, would it be the SEC officials?

I can't totally hate Tebow, after all he really wanted to be a Husker but Callahan wanted pro QB's so he didn't recruit him.

Shame on this Heisman showdown Saturday that Suh turned in the most dominating performance of all the finalists, but probably won't get a whiff of New York...
(However seeing Timmy (Christ) Tebow crying at the end of his game brought a smile to even this grinch's face...)

I don't dislike Tebow, I don't think there is no denying he's a damn good player, on a pretty good team..... It's the attention and image given to him by the media (most of the media, and especially THAT particular outlet ) that I dislike.

McCoy is pretty dang good too, you don't get to be the winning-est QB in history by being a scrub. Or by playing on a scrub team, or a scrub offense (I'm looking your way Nebraska O.....)

The others, damn good players too.....

But it would be downright disgraceful for Suh not to at least get an invite to NY. He is not only one of the best players on the field this year, he's so good, he makes the guys around him look good! Scratch that, the guys around him are pretty dang good in their own right, Suh makes them look that much better.

Coming from a guy that lives in the heart of the SEC and has watched every televised SEC game this year in addition to Cinci's games. There's a few players that truly deserve the heisman this year and Tebow is simply not one of them. I like the guy on a personal level, but the media attention he's getting has soured my attitude pretty quickly. McElroy was twice the qb this year, and that really showed in Saturday's game. Yet this guy doesn't get near the attention and went into this game as an underdog. Even the announcers were talking pregame on how he could never measure up to Tebow.(barf) There is no qb that gets the working time that Tebow's offensive line has given him and his stats don't hold that up. Give him a weaker o-line and he'd crumble in a heartbeat.

Anyway after watching all these games this year, there are four players that stick out in my mind more than anybody. Ingram and McElroy from Bama, Gilliard from Cinci, and of course Suh. If a defensive player ever got heisman it should be Suh. In fact I wish this year that would be the case. I don't think there's any player in the NCAA that has influenced more plays and has carried his team through hell like Suh has. Without him Nebraska would probably be 2-10 right now. The guy is a machine like college football hasn't seen in a long time. Just my slightly biased .02.

Alright!!! I guess that proves the blind squirrel does find an acorn every once in a while...

Find it to be a crock that Suh finished behind McCoy. Some must vote the Heisman as some sort of a "lifetime achivement award" rather than the best college football player for that season...(Still finished ahead of Tebow though, so I guess all is not wrong)
