Are you talking about the Civil War? Cause if you are, I already knew that.

Never been a "Red Sox" hater, but one must admit that after going 0-2, SOMEONE has finally found his "Father", don't you think?

As much as I hate the Yanks, they played head and shoulders better than any team this post season...(I think I just threw-up in my mouth)

And on the plus side, reruns of The Office will not be interrupted anymore

Yeah they finally bought (i mean won) another world series. Salary cap in baseball might be a good idea.

I hate salary caps in football and basketball. Owners need to reinvest in their product and not pocket money. The yankees pay a tremendous amount of money to other teams and I don't see those owners doing much with that money. In my mind American companies could use the Yankees as a good example of reinvesting in your product and paying people a good salary to keep them and recruit the finest and you will see the results in increased profits.

I'm sorry, that has got to be one of the dumbest things I have ever read on here. The money the Yanks pay out in the "luxury tax" is pocket change compared to the money they are able to "reinvest" back in their product.

If American companies followed the Yankee model, how would they be able to overpay people and still see increased profits? You don't think companies would jack up the prices of anything and everything to cover the additional salary? So, what then happens when bigger companies raid smaller companies for talent, lock them up for thousands to millions of dollars more then their market value, and they don't work out? I guess the couple mill here and there on the payroll for "players" that didn't work out and are no longer around is no big deal. If American companies did business the way the Yanks do, we would all be on skid row.

lol 26.9 million pocket change? Overpay people? How are the players overpaid? Jack up prices? What prices were jacked up for the Yankees other than the luxery seats? I could have bought a ticket at the same price this year as last and sat in a comparible area. You don't think companies already lock people up for more than what they are worth? Bigger companies already raid smaller companies for talent. Should there be a salary cap on these bigger companies so that does not happen? What I see in companies is CEO's taking a huge huge salary, building mansions all across the world and than complaining when their profit margins fall. Maybe if they built one less mansion and reinvested into their product they would see a better profit margin. Now compare that to baseball. The KC Royals owner decides he wants to pocket what the Yankees gave him instead of paying a player that would help the team what is considered to be his value on the current market. Happens all the time.

First of all, that isn't 26.9 million per team that doesn't go over the "luxury tax." Compare that to what the Yanks bring in, and yes, that is a drop in the bucket. The word "overpay" is a tricky one in baseball. When a few teams control market value because they can pay millions more than most, therefore, "overpaying" to get those players. To say that all a team like KC has to do is invest wisely what he gets from not just NY, the whole pool of luxury tax money, while turning a blind eye to other things like the differences in population, economy (YES network) is a pipe dream at best.

Secondly, you never answered any of my questions. If companies ran the "Yankee baseball model" which in itself is a ridiculus statement, who would pay for it in the end? How would they make up for giving bigger salaries? Would they keep prices the same and accept smaller profit margins? The playing fields that normal companies deal with compared to the ones baseball teams deal with are like comparing apples and oranges so enlighten me please...

(I would just like to say that I think the Yanks were the best team in baseball this year and proved it in the postseason, money or not.)

No kidding!

I have to admit I was shocked to see the way CC and A-Rod came through this year after the way they had performed in postseason's past. Money or not the Yankee's earned it on the field.

Actually, money CAN buy you "love", but it does NOT guarantee you championships.

It takes a "team".

The 1996 "team" was full of "odds & ends". It was the FIRST championship in 18 years. And one year after "Donnie Baseball" retired. Remember him? He was a Yankee for 17 years. And NEVER won a championship. He was "bookended" by championships, however.

And before Reggie, it was the early 60's since the Yankees had won a championship. Mickey Mantle era.

Is Baseball about $$MONEY$$? Absolutely. As are ALL Sports. Blame free agency, blame the "rich".

But don't blame the "team". Together, THEY won a championship.

Money "won" nothing.

However, it MAY have bought a little "love" after the win.

You'll have to watch the tabloids to be sure.

Money sure didn't get it done for the cubs this year. They spent an extra 20 million this year compared to last year and still didn't win.

The Cubs spend a lot of money every year and are never in it. Over half the time they don't even make the playoffs. In 2009 they were the 3rd highest spending team! Out of 30 teams! I can see where a Royals fan, Pirates fan, Padres fan or a Rays fan would complain about team salaries, but NOT a cubs fan.

7 of the 8 playoff teams this year spent less than the cubs on player salaries and managed to make it. Whats your excuse now? A goat curse?
