Week 2 is in the books!

Mako's Sharks continued to snack on the competition, this time taking a big bite out of Catfishin 4 Life. C4L's team didn't go down with out a fight, putting up a very respectable 98 points, but just couldn't handle Mako's "Most Points" award winning team that put up 115. When 7 of your 9 players post up double digits, it's tough to beat.

Congrats to Vikes "the night crawlers", they won the weekly trophy for "fewest points". Vikes huffed, and he puffed before week two kicked off, but in the end, the night crawlers are just food for Big Gills. The Dolphins wildcat offense kept Addai off the field for the 75% of the game. Addai, R. Moss, K. Boss, and the Chargers D scored a whopping 5 points for Vikes. While lil' Manning and Barber racked up 21 points each for me. Looks like Barber's out though for next week, but I got some back up....

Cornfed Cornhead took a break from munching on corn and fried up some Crappie deafeating Adam R's Crappie Slayers 97-73. The Titians running back Chris Johnson went to town and back giving Cornhead 45 FREAKING POINTS! That's 1 point less than Adam's two top scorers combined, sadly, Drew Brees and Dallas Clark were the only bright spot on Adam's team. Hit the waiver wire man.....

GoFishinWithDad took on Smelly Digits (there's a story there, I'm sure) and came out the loser 80-93. Only 3 of GFWD's players broke into double digit scores, with none going over 20, there just isn't a clear "stud" on the team..... Andre Johnson was the work horse for smelly digits pulling in 26 points.

The close game of the week was Team Fishalot vs Bellevue NE PLOTS, With B NE PLOTS coming out on top 79-73. Fishalot was prob cheering every time Ronnie Brown lined up in the wildcat on MNF..... Mr. Brown dang near had his way with the Indy D, getting 25 points, but alas, it wasn't enough in the end. Maybe Darren Sproles won't be on the bench next week, gotta hate having 20 points sitting on the bench. Plots had sold stats out of Favre, R. Bush, S. Smith and Tony Gonzalez. Favre over Rivers for the start? well, you still won..... barely.

Ty made even more moves, and moves on to 2-0 stomping on team One More Fish 97-73. Don't worry Ty, nobody saw Matt Schaub getting 30 points. Although between him and Sanchez, it was a coinflip on who to start. Frank Gore get's 35 points to become Ty's workhorse for the week, how long can he keep it up though? One More Fishes bright spot on the team was sitting on the bench, W. McGahee got 20 points.... DeSean Jackson was star on the starting lineup for OMF with 17 points, TO, and the Vikes D were second with 12 points each.

Ty - 2-0
Mako - 2-0
Bellevue NE Plots - 2-0
Smelly Digits 2-0
Catfishin4Life - 1-1
Big gill Hunter - 1-1
Cornfed Cornhead - 1-1
The Night Crawlers - 1-1
GoFishinWithDad - 0-2
Team Fishalot - 0-2
Crappie Slayers - 0-2
One More Fish - 0-2

The Smelly Digits are getting a loss this week! I just made a few bench moves and went from the underdog to being favored now.

Default Better late than never......

Week Three is starting to show who has the dang good teams....

I'll start off with the un-beatens.....

Mako Sharks (3-0) eeks out a win against Crappie Slayers (0-3) 84-82. Peyton Manning goes to town for four touchdowns and earning 29 points. Vincent Jackson and Cotchery also put up solid #'s. Mako even had solid #'s from his bench! Crappie Slayers got a very uncharacteristic 4 points out of Drew Brees that cost him the W, Santana Moss was the shining star with 23 points.

Smelly Digits (3-0) took on Ty Stormquist (2-1), and gave him the finger winning 79-62. With 5 players putting up 10 or more points, it was a what would look like an easy victory. Brandon Jacobs looking like Brandon Jacobs sure helps! What really did it for Mr. Stink Finger was Frank Gore getting injured costing Ty some serious points. Having two players on Ty's bench go for 13 points each didn't help either. With Matt Schaub getting 30 points in week 2, and 22 in week 3, Ty has himself a legit QB....

Vikes Forever (2-1) spent a portion of Sunday afternoon thinking "live by the favre, die by the favre". In an interesting twist, the Packers Aarron Rogers was the starting QB for Vikes, posting up an impressive 27 points while 5 other players all earned 11 points or better, giving him a very impressive, and "Most Points" trophy winning 106 points. Favre, the Starting QB for Bellevue NE Plots (2-1), Vikes oppenent even.... Got a decent 18 points, and Jones-Drew ran up and down the field getting 31 whopping points...... but that's pretty much where the big #'s ended..... Bellevue NE Plots never made it close, gaining 83 points.

The ho hum game of the week featured Cornfed Cornhead (2-1) vs Catfishin 4 Life (1-2). Cornfed came out on top of that snoozer 63-47. It was Cornfed's Dallas defense that put up the most points in the entire matchup with 19 points.

GoFishinWithDad (0-3) remains winnless losing to OneMoreFish (1-2). Julius Jones and Reggie Wayne both put up solid 18 points for GFWD.... but it was no match for OMF's 105 points. DeShaun Jackson (20pts), Tom Brady (15 pts), Steven Jackson (13 pts), Willis McGahee (16 pts), and Willie Parker (18 pts) more than made up for TO collecting a big fat goose egg.

Even if Felix Jones had not left the game, it wouldn't have helped me win. I (1-2) got beat soundly by Team Fishalot (1-2) 87-61. There was no bright spot on my team. Team Fishalot however, had 2 players looking good in Flaco and the Bronco's D. it was enough......

Trophy Winners
Highest Score - "the Night Crawlers" - 106 points
Lowest Score - Catfishin 4 Life - 47 points
Biggest Win - Team Fishalot - 26 point win
Biggest Loss - Big Gill hunter - 26 point loss

Week 4 lines
Big Gill Hunter (-14) Vs Cornfed Cornhead
Team Fishalot (-22) vs FishinWithDad
Catfishin 4 Life (-12) vs Smelly Digits
The Night Crawlers (-1) vs One More Fish
Bellevue NE Plots Vs Crappie Slayers (-57)
Mako Sharks (-27) vs Team Stormquist

No worries on Gore, Ty. Tomlinson is probably not going to be playing... again.

I do love it though when people go by the projections to pick their players.

Its an easy way to quickly figure out what the opponents defense is like.

Dang I need a win! My regular starters aren't that bad, they just aren't producing evenly... and here comes the beginning of Bye Week Hell...

Even if I'm losing, it's still better than not doing it!!

Yep, it panned out in the end. Unless you pull something out of your bottom region I think I got ya.

Default Painful.......

Oh how the mighty have fallen......

Mako Sharks and Smelly Digits both went into Week 4 unbeaten, can came out with losses.....

Mako took on Ty, and Ty took away his unbeaten record. LT's day's of be the top RB were over last year, and this year proves no different. Mako had 5 players get 5 or less points, while Ty had a solid 10-14 points out of 6 players.

Smelly Digits may have got caught in the ESPN FUBAR where nobody who wasn't already logged in couldn't sign in and make moves..... that made for rough day at work.... Not for me, I left shortly after it happened. 60 Points on SD's Bench compared to the 40 points on his starting line up gennerally leads to a loss.... Jeremy had enough points out of four of his players to beat Smelly Digits.

Pierre Thomas, Carson Palmer, and Chris Cooley all had pretty decent days for Cornfed Cornhead, giving him the win over my puny bluegill team. Dismal is about all I can say for my team.

The big surprise for the week, GoFishinWithDad, who had been winless, came out with a MONSTER day, scoring more points than any team in one week yet this season, 128 points!!!!! 21 points from Sims-Walker, 24 points from Antonio Gates, and 28 points from the Saints D/ST.... wow. Fishalot didn't do bad..... but 82 points, 23 coming from Ronnie Brown, just ain't gunna cut it.

TheNightCrawlers RB Steve Smith led his team with 25 points, and with very nice performances out of Aaron Rogers, Addai, Ray Rice, and Randy Moss, going over 100 points was no problem. One More Fish couldn't compare with only 72 points, only two players got more than 10 points.

Like me, Bellevue NE PLOTS is looking forward to forgetting week 4. 75 points on your bench, dang, that's got to sting just a touch.

OK, before all the mocking even starts about my roster this week, let me start off my saying I am a big 49ers fan, and I have obviously overestimated the strength of their defense...

That's all. At this point in the day, I now fully expect to lose.

The projection - 5 pts

Quote:
Don't be surprised if the 49ers key on White in the receiving game, as they've got the corners to contain him and know he's a home-run hitter in this offense. Not that we doubt his talent, it's just that the matchup could be better.
The reality -
Roddy White kicked butt and took names - 12 points for TD's and 21 points recieveing........

sittin on the bench.....
