sure, I like the Gophers... defiantly my favorite Big-10 team... you guys should actually be pretty decent in a few years. Good QB and the spread they implemented seems to be working out alright, give it a couple years and see where they are. Better than the Huskers, probably not... but a respectable team in the Big 10, I could see it happening...

Not after the hiring of one Kevin Cosgrove to be "co" defensive coordinator. Guy had trouble with the spread, and 8 out of 10 teams he's gonna run into in the Big10 have them...
(On the plus side the rumors to fill the vacant O coordinater say it might be Josh Heipel, so if he could bring that Oklahoma offensive scheme, along with Bradford, Grishem, Murrary and Igluesis, they might have a chance.)

Ohio St. seems to be about to wrap up a #1 ranked class this year. We'll see if Tressel can actually win a title with these. Huskers looking to be somewhere between 20 through 25. Getting prime talent is a must...but obviously we all know in college it comes down to good coaching.

I think Cosgrove will do better in the Big 10. Anyone can run Oklahoma's offensive system. Same offensive schemes as pretty much anyone...but no huddle doesn't allow defenses to get set and check off. But seeing what happened in the NC game...when you don't settle down, huddle up, run the right play...especially in the red zone can deflate your entire game plan.

No huddle was not the reason OU lost that game. Outcoached and outplayed by a better football team from a superior conference

As far as Cosgrove, I'm still on the fence. People were so quick to blame him and his lack of adjustments for giving up a bunch of points and or yards, but was this year too much different without him? I know the Gator Bowl is fresh in everyone's minds, but when you think about it that D was still medicore. So I guess I'm saying maybe the whole situation at Nebraska was so jacked up (Billy C) that it would have been hard for anyone to have success...

I believe the no huddle had Florida on the ropes...when there's a lot of space to work with. Now you get down into the red zone, and Florida's overall team speed gives it a tremendous advantage to make plays because there's less space they have to cover. So yes...the no huddle was to blame in the red zone. When OU gets down to the 3/4 yard line, and tries to hurry it up, it's botched. If they huddle up, take their time getting a good call in, instead of trying to run the same draw play on each down....they get a touchdown, and at least a fg.

Now I'm not one of the fanatics...Nebraska's overall defense wasn't great or good for the most part. Their rushing D was good, pass not so much. But Pelini (Carl & Bo) know when to dial it up and with the right schemes. This years defense was around 56th in the nation. Last seasons was 112th. Using the same players on the d line and in the secondary, with all new LBs so thats improvement. Of course to his defense, Cosgrove had to go up against extremley good offenses.

Excuses Excuses...
If Percy Harvin would have been at 100% he would have taken two of his long second half runs to the house.
Oklahoma got outcoached and outplayed by a better football team, just like they always do in Jan.

I'm not disagreeing with that! Florida made the plays that they had to make on both offense and defense. Oklahoma's defense played a respectible game against Florida's offense but OUs offense choked big time.

Agreed!
