I was pretty surprised to see him get fired, but I doubt he'll be unemployed for long.

The man had a .500 record over the last three seasons, had won 1 playoff game since Elway retired and had just let a three game lead slip out of his hands (by getting absolutely destroyed by a rival on national tv). So I guess I can understand them wanting to shake things up. That being said I didn't know he was on the chopping block either.

I am not shocked at all, if Mangeni got fired for his team's collapse late in the season, why should Shanahan be any different. Both coaches seemed to overachieve at different points in the season but flat out lost it in the end. Coaching is always a what can you do for me now profession, not what did you do for me 10 years ago. Those stats look great and will get him into the hall someday but a super bowl win 10 years ago doesn't help them today. Honestly, when you depend on quarterback like Jake Plummer and Jay Cutler to lead your teams you should always be looking for the chopping block, both are choke artists. Lets not forget, this is the man that drafted the idiot running back from Ohio State, Maurice Clarett in the third round!!!! He will find a coaching job soon if he wants it but he should stick to coaching and let somebody else be the GM. He should go to Detroit, you honestly can't do any worse for that organization

As a lifetime Bronco fan, I was calling for Mike's head after the Buffalo game. Saying this...I was still kind of shocked it happened. Things just havn't been that great in Bronco land for the last few years...It might be a little weird seeing a diff. coach on the sidelines next year...Shanahan had been our coach since I was like 8 or 9! Heres to the furture! I just hope we don't turn into the Browns....

Unless Cowher's chin is going to cover when Champ is injurered again, I don't see how he helps, plus I believe his strengths are defense and a running game, when our strengths are cutler & marshall. How is he going to win with (insert this weeks RB here)?

Here comes 3 years of mediocrity, guess I will hunt more on Sundays.

My Cousin Mason was angry whenhe found out about it. I think it's quite surprising. Maybe he'll go to St. Louis.
