I think it came down to the 5th tie-breaker, their BCS standings.

Really no way to do it without screwing someone over. Guess it payed off for OU to play and beat TCU and Cincy nonconference.

yeah but Texas beat OU. IMHO Texas should be playing in the Big XII game b/c of that.

I don't think that anyone can deny that OU is the better team RIGHT NOW! True they lost head to head but TU lost to TT and OU beat TT so the head to head thing is truely invalid.

Anytime the people in baby poop orange get screwed, the system has worked the way it should!

I don't thinks so. Reasoning is that TU losing to TT and OU beating TT is not head to head. TU beating OU is head to head and IMO TU beating OU should carry some weight. I just wish they would at least play out the top 4 and take then play the winners for the championship game. That and make every conference have a championship game as well. Maybe they can just change the rules this one time and have OU take MU's place in the big XII championship game so it can be settled. Either way, going to be a mess no matter what happens.

Love the idea that you have but maybe it will the NCG intead of just the B12CG. The perfect world that is what happens.

So going with your theory then why doesn't TT belong there more than TU? TT beat TU head to head.

May not be a valid point, but the fact of how close TU and OU are. TT is 7 in BCS. I guess the difference there would be my argument.

Wouldn't you love to see a TU vs OU NCG? I would let them settle it on the field. Yes I think TT is irrelevent at this point as well but it makes for interesting conversation. The system is broke but I don't care either way really and I can't believe that I am actually glad that OU got the nod. But do think they they are the better team right now.

I agree, OU is the better team right now. It would be pretty neat to see a head to head between OU and TU either in a head to head game to get to the B12CG or in the B12CG or NTG. Would just be fun to see it. I think they should just say this year, "forget the rules, you 2 are playing to see who plays MU."

I might be the minority, but I kind of like how it is. Makes every game very very important. There are flaws and I'd like to see it tweaked. Maybe play the bowls with 1 vs. 2 and 3 vs.4 against eachother in bowl games and then have the winner play for the title.

The travesty will be if MU beats OU and gets a BCS bowl out of it. Then that would mean that OU would get stuck in a non-BCS bowl. I like an 8 or 16 team playoff. 16 gives the small schools a chance to win it all. I have seen some scenerios where they use the different bowls and make it look pretty easy to get done. But in the end it boils down to money.

I'm probably not adding anything new or relavent, but the BCS is obviously not the answer to these problems that arise when dealing with that close of a finish. TT is out of it because of their 7 point squeak past Baylor of all people. UT & OU should be down to the head-to-head. Period. The national rankings of .014 difference shouldn't decide who goes and who stays. Why not a coin flip between all three teams? That would make more sense than some computer geek's formula that takes up 2 whiteboards to explain.

16 Team playoffs!!! You'd have all the bowl games you'd want. Just call the playoff games whatever bowl you wanted. It's not like there's a shortage of bowl games...seriously, the San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl???? They can come up with that but not a playoff system that would work?

Apparently every other sports league is wrong and college football has it figured out...
