Default KSU's Prince to resign

Sources: Ron Prince to resign as Kansas State coach
BY JEFFREY MARTIN
The Kansas City Star

Kansas State football coach Ron Prince is expected to announce his resignation this afternoon, two sources close to the situation told The Kansas City Star.

Prince will, however, coach the remainder of the season, one source said.

According to the sources, Prince has scheduled a 2:45 p.m. meeting with his team and will later hold a conference call with the media.

The Wildcats are 4-5 this season, but have lost three in a row. In the five losses, K-State has surrendered 220 points, punctuated by this past weekend’s 52-21 defeat by rival Kansas — the program’s third consecutive loss to the Jayhawks.

Prince is 16-18 in two-plus seasons in Manhattan

As a K-state fan I couldn't be happier today. He was pretty much gone when he went for 4 and 8 on his only 28 last week in the 1st Q.

In other news, Ron Prince has been approached by McDonald's to portray "Grimace" at corporate events.

IMO, the guy only had 2 1/2 years to do something. Ya gotta give somebody longer than that. BUT wildcat fans were ready to tar and feather this guy.

It was time. Barring next weeks game...he's gone 0-7 against Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska. Hope i didn't just jinx Nebraska. One thing losing to Oklahoma, Texas, etc. But not even competitive with the North when K. St. went to the Big 12 Champ in 2003.

What happened to NU is going to happen to KSU. I will probably get reamed for this, but TO sucks as an AD. Thank god he didn't come back and coach and "groom" the upcoming coach like it soulds like Snyder will.
