Hey, gang.

That was scary.

You all do realize, don't you, that the score could EASILY been 100-0 if coach Stoops hadn't tried to put the brakes on once they were up by 3-4 touchdowns? He toned it way down on both sides of the ball before the end of the first quarter and our defense still couldn't begin to hang with the OU QB and receivers.

It was all over in the first 10 minutes. OU made their point and coach Stoops was gentlemen enough to call off the dogs at that point and try to at least let our boys catch their breath. You do realize that, right?

I just hate to see folks getting too excited about the way the game yesterday went after that first quarter.

We never stopped them. Their offense barely even knew our guys were out there at all. They just took their foot of the accelerator....then they actually stepped on the brakes...and we still couldn't keep them out of the end zone. OU couldn't even stop themselves from scoring even when they were trying not to score.

Our defense is better than it was last year, but there is still a long, long way to go.

I think our offense could possibly hang in the big 12, but weed need a couple of complete animals on defense to lead, fire up and maintain discipline on our D and we just...do...not...have...those kinds of folks on our roster at this time.

We simply need better athletes on defense then we have at nearly every position.

It will take time. I make this point today because I realize now that if we do make it to bowl game this year, we are very likely going to get clobbered by no matter who it is we face because our defense is still very, very bad.

OU has a great team and their coach is a class act.

couldn't agree more!

The way I look at it, it will be worse before it gets better. Atleast we don't have Bill coaching anymore, I hated his style of coaching and lost the focus on teamwork and instead tried to improve the individual. Bo is doing a good job in my opinion.
Right now some of our athletes are not the highest quality at the moment and we have alot of younger players, but some experience and time and they will be pretty good. Our D line is alot better then last year, but the secondary is not playing at the level I think they should be. Alot of their mistakes were fundimentals.

But I still a strong faith in our team and hope we learn from this and come back to smash K State & Colorado (the two teams i dislike the most )

Go huskers!

It's all a matter of perspective. OU won the first quarter; we won the last three.

I thought the ESPN announcer had the best line of the year, about four minutes into the game, when he said, "What's next for Nebraska, locusts?"
