I'll bet TO is looking for a way to get him in a uniform again.

Hopefully him being an ex-Husker(even though he contributed very little) has no relevance on the outcome. Hopefully if he's found guilty of first degree murder,he gets the shock of his life. I have no sympathy for criminals.

husker players always find a way to slip through the cracks of our state judicial system, sad as it is...

We would have won that game with or without Lawrence Phillips. No question about it. TO made a mistake, wish everyone would get over that. No one cares to talk about the second chances that other people have got in life and capitalized on it.

Pretty ironic coming from someone who's team had a RB last year that could only play in home games because he couldn't leave the state......

You are absolutely right, but because that's not a sexy news story, for the most part, you won't.

Not disagreeing...NU had that one in the bag without that piece of sh*t. The fact that he was allowed to wear a uniform is a disgrace to Nebraska (not that I really care).

As far as capitalizing on second chances is concerned...what GOOD has come of LP since then? It's not like he cleaned his act up and became a positive member of society. Nope...he is just another thug on the streets...with a Natn'l Champ ring.

What does that matter? Tom had the guts to try and help the kid and did everything he could to help him get his life right. It's easy to throw someone under the bus.

This Thunder Collins deal has nothing to do with NU football. He quit the team a few years ago. He is on his own with this one. Being a former blue chip prospect that washed out at NU wont help him get cleared or anything.

Had the GUTS to try to HELP him? You're kidding, right? How does putting a championship ring on the finger of a kid who should be serving time in prison HELP him? How does rewarding him with that honor do anything other than say "it's totally cool to throw your girlfriend down the stairs?"

Osborne didn't know at the time that his decission wouldn't light a fire under LP's *****. Osborne gave him the chance to play, thinking that it would lead to greater things for the guy. In a way saying, "I care about you, when no one else in your life ever has, now go make me proud and do something with your life." Go read about LP's childhood and you will see where I am coming from when I say that no one ever gave him the time of day or any love before Osborne gave him a second chance. Obviously it didn't work out and LP turned out to be a scum bag.

But, to cut down Tom Osborne is crap in my opinion. Yes he was a great football coach, but he is an even better human being. His teammates program has changed the lives of MANY people that I know from highschool and countless others accross the state. Tom was trying to mentor LP, in most cases it works out for the best. Mentoring is a great tool in turning adolescents lives around. However, in this case it simply just did not work out.

Osborne is nothing but a great and caring man who has been taken advantage of more than just once. See Link.

Yeah, put that up there with Vicatin Favre, Underage hot-tub party Chumra, Domestic Violence Ahman Green.

I guess it balances out since Barry Alvarez did help Jodie Foster catch Buffalo Bob.....

That statement may perhaps be the single dumbest thing I've ever heard in my entire life. Let's just let all the rapists and child molesters who happen to be able to run a 4.5 40 out of prison, throw them in a uniform and HOPE that they don't end up continuing to be the criminals that they truly are. Forget the judicial system, let's just suit them up in red and white.

Tom Osborne was a good coach...period. But LP was the skidmark in the tightie whities that are TO.

When Chewey got caught trying to play hide the sausage with underage girls, they threw his white arse off the team and if I remember correctly, he spent some time behind bars. Favre was being was taking a boatload of "vicodin", but his drugs were prescribed, making them legal. Yep, he took too damn many, and got hooked, but he did the right thing in the end.

Ahman Green...another genuine Nebraskan piece of sh*t. Not one domestic assault arrest, but two. (Picked up in '99 while playing in Seattle). Recruited to the Huskers by...? None other than your own personal Jesus Christ...Tommy Boy.
