From the Voice in the Grandstands in Fri. online World Herald:
It would have been marvelous for Nebraska to win the Cotton Bowl; however, isn't it a bit ridiculous for the Latest Line to have No. 9 Auburn predicted to beat No. 22 Nebraska by only 11/2 points? Cotton Bowl stats show the Huskers' power: They had more first downs, more rushing and passing yards as well as total yards. They had more possession time. I hope negativists take note of that. To do that to a No. 9 team tells me that Nebraska won without a "W." Tom Shatel's negativism regarding Nebraska football turns me off. Lee Barfknecht has much better insight. I wonder what Shatel would write if Nebraska had played like Oklahoma against Boise State? Sister Mary Hlas, Omaha Does sister have a bit of a gambling problem? |
