Cool Pics from Yankee stadium 7/4/2008.

I made it to my first game at Yankee stadium on the July 4th. I grew to love the Yanks from a young age from watching my father.
This is a quote from a book I got called Memories of Yankee Stadium.
"Every time I'm [there], I think of my father. I think of the way he got us to love it without saying, 'love this.'" Billy Crystal
They were playing the Red Sox so it was sold out. We got there when the gates opened 2 hrs before the game started so I could take it all in.

July 4th is anniversary of Lou Gehrigs farewell speech. They played it before the game started.

The bull pens, with the new Yankee Stadium in the backround.

Josh Beckett warming up in the bullpen in front of the retired #'s.

The view from our seats in the upper deck in right field.

Jeter getting a hit. Or as they say it out there Jeta, no R on the end.

My wife and I in stands. The guy next to me in the sunglasses was a retired NYC cop. I told my wife before we went that I wanted to to sit next a crazy Yankee fan. Well I got my wish, this dude was nuts. As soon as he sat down we were talking about the Yanks. Even though we were in the upper deck and there was no way in hell the players could hear us he yelled the whole game. MANNY CUT YOUR HAIR YOU LOOK LIKE A GIRL!!!!!!! KEVIN I CAN'T GROW HAIR ON MY HEAD SO I GROW IT ON MY CHIN YOUKILLUS. WELCOME TO THE BRONX!!!!! I told him that we had come from NE and I grew up in Joba's home town. He said "man we really love that kid out here" A-rod was 1 home run from tying Mickey Mantle for career HRS. He came up with the bases loaded and I commented to my new buddy how awesome it would be to see him hit a homer. A-ROD DO FOR NEBRASKA!!!!!!! His daughter had her boyfriend with her and he had a Bo Sox shirt on. He asked if Boston had anything like Memorial Park and before the kid could answer he said "no they don't because the Yankees are the team in history."

We sat through a 1 1/2 hour rain delay. With the rain and getting in early I was able to spend 7 hrs in the stadium.

Looks like you had a good time, Frosch. And don't worry; nobody ever accused you of being normal anyway!

The Red Sox won. There you made me say it, are you happy now? It was the only game of the series that they won.

Pretty sweet man!

I would love to go to Yankee stadium. As of right now I am planning on making a trip to Chicago to a Cubs game................. IF! they make the playoffs. And if they make the series.......... well looks like its time to start selling some of my baseball cards. I got a couple over $500 cards that should pay for a ticket somewhere inside Wrigley.

Looks like you had a dream come true!

Congrats!

To all the people who think baseball is boring. You really need to go to a game that isnt the Omaha Royals.

Nice pics Frosch! Did you see the picture(s) from the latest Sports Illustrated from that same game? It's one of the leading off pictures.

That home run derby was pretty sweet last night. Cant believe that Hamilton lost it though. Set a new record with 28 homers in the first round. Thats amazing. What a story behind that dude too.

He's lived a rough past, and has come a long way! And probably got tired last night after hitting that many.

My son and I are heading to Yankee Stadium on Friday. Can't wait to see monument park and the monument to the great Mickey Mantle.
