Default Let's Talk FOOTBALL!

Anyone besides me excited for the upcoming College Football Season?

I am not sure how well our mighty Huskers will do, but it will have some drama and excitement this year. Hopefully, the positive kind.

I am predicting a trip to the Big 12 Championship game. I think Bo Pelini and Staff will give the kids the fire they need to kick it up a notch.

On the Pro side, who do you see making big strides this year? The Patriots will be kicking tail again, and will have something to prove. Can they go undefeated?

Will Brett Farve come out of retirement and cause an entire state to have a collective feeling of "mixed emotions?"

Will me favorite team, the Eagles do anything this year? Well, no. But what about your team? How do you think YOUR team is going to do?

Let's talk some football!

I sure hope my Rams do better than last year. The Huskers should be better since Callahan got fired. Bo Pelleni should lead the Huskers to a pretty good season.

You want some football, I'm all over it this week. I WAS a die hard packer fan until yesterday and today when the team decided not to accept Favre back as thier starter. How stupid can you be honestly. The man lead you to the NFC championship, was a Pro Bowler last year, and was one of the top 5 qb's in the league and you say no. How dumb are you? The team would rather take a chance on a guy who hasn't played a full game yet opposed to accepting favre back. I lost total respect for that organization. In the NFL it's not about building teams for the future- free agency has ruined that. In the NFL you do what you can to win NOW!! How could you not think a qb who has never played gives you a better option that a resurgent Favre. Complete joke. Sorry to rant, just a tad upset of the whole deal. I like to see him sign with the Bears just to get them back, that would be sweet but the Packers won't let that happen I'm sure.

I fully agree with you. I'm a big Packer fan too. The whole thing is kind of unbelieveable to me. Favre always seemed to be the guy who was going to play forever...and never become a bad player.

I don't think it matters if it's Rogers or Favre, that division belongs to the Vikings this year. Although it would be sweet to see Favre in purple at Lambeau field.

My best guess for NU is that they will win 7 to 8 games and go to a Dec bowl game.

National Championship guess: The Ohio State vs Oklahoma

Would never happen. The Packers will sit on him and eat the salary rather than watch him go to any NFC team...especially the NFC Norse.

Oh, and the Vikes will start strong and then shoot themselves in the foot like they always do.

Minnesota already has a QB that can throw an interception at home in an overtime NFC championship game.

I'll add this last part so every packer fan doesn't have to post it:

Yeah, but they don't have a QB with a superbowl ring.

My top three teams as always

Cowboys - sure would like to see them win a post season game this year....

Vikes - They WILL Make it to the post season this year

Raiders - oh well, there is always next year

The Mighty Huskers, they should be back! I'll be pleased with 7 wins, anything above that, i'll be ecstatic!

Nope...but you've got a team who can celebrate an amazing start to the 2007 season by furthering every racial stereotype known to man with their amazing aquatic parties... :-)

How about celebrating an amazing start by having a hot tub party with some underage girls?
Way to go Chumra!

And thus deserving of being smushed like a grape by a cokehead with no respect for the law?

You can't possibly blame the Packers for this. From all the reports I've heard, Favre told them in Late March that he wanted to come back. The Packers were ready to fly to Mississippi for a presser and Favre told them he was going to stay retired 2 days before the presser. The Packers had to move on and Favre needs to mow his yard on his Snapper or wear his Wranglers and stay retired.

Yep still blaming the packers on this one. I'm going to believe the football player over the ownership on this one. I truly believe they've wanted Favre out the past few years. His great year last year was probably not something they thought would happen and still I don't recall any attempts to bring him back at least not publicly. Teams that want their star qbs back make it known as the broncos did with elway and the dolphins did with marino. He admitts he's guilty of leaving the game too soon but there are many others who have and still came back and played well. As stated before and by many other NFL people on tv this week, the NFL is a win now business...who gives you the best chance Rogers? HECK NO!!! To be honest I think he sucked at Cal and still sucks-how many backups have turned out to be crap after one good game- too many to count. Favre is your best option and really your only option if you want the same amount of success as last year. You know the vikings and bears are praying he is released. Image what favre could do with the bears. One of the best D's in the league, top O-line, decent receivers- only missing a quailty qb and rb. Favre could take that team well into the playoffs next year and the Packers know it.

A cokehead, honestly?
That's pretty funny you would go there when your lord and savior was nothing but a junkie. Just because he "allegedly" kicked it doesn't change that fact.
