    Default Nebraska Elk

Just wanted to share a picture of the bull that my Dad got this last weekend. Bugled him in to 50 yards from 3/4 of a mile away.

Might be cheaper to just buy some ground in the unit that you want to hunt and then you or a member of you family could draw a tag every year instead of waiting for years to draw a tag and then most likely having to pay to hunt

Or maybe the NGPC should just make it a a landowner only tag. That's kind of the way they are heading anyway. By the way nice elk Songdog

We were hunting in the Bordeaux unit, and yote we didn't have to pay there is plenty of people up here that will give you permission as long as you ask. We called in some bulls on public ground opening morning as well, probably saw close to 30 elk on public ground opening morning, we talked to a guy loading up a very nice bull that he got down by the Cliffs on public ground. I drew a bull tag the first year I put in six years ago and this was my dads 5th year, my mom drew a cow the first year she put in 3 years ago. I've been putting in for six years on antelope and still havn't drawn so elk is no worse than an antelope tag. The first year I put in there was only 12 available tags to draw for this unit. this year there was 28 for bull so the odds get better every year. And I don't remember how many cow tags there was for the unit, but there was a good amount of them.

Top Ten 10 pic right there. Father, son, and a big bull elk. Wow.

    Did you score him? Mount?
