THIS ONE's been out for DECADES! For those with "stupid phones" like me!

BUT, I can see the advantage for those up to date with phone technology, for sure!

Wonder what the degree of the transducer is... hard to beat the HB's 90 degree. Especially when checking shallower bays for structures.

It was only a matter of time..... The older I get, and the more changes I see, it is becoming easier to understand that the things that are possible are 'only' limited by our imaginations.... How long do you suppose it will be before those little balls have some kind of stunner in them that will stun the fish you point it at? I'm not saying it would be ethical, just that it will probably be 'out there' some day before we know it.

I'm with Harold, I surely would not ever understand how to make it work. Heck, I'd probably just stun myself getting it out of the box and never fully recover!

    Default New Fishfinder - Kickstarter/Indiegogo

New fish finder that uses your iOS or Android device. It is in development and needs supporters! If they can get funded by the July 12, you can get one for a great price. Check out the link below - http://www.indiegogo.com/deeper?c=home

For $129, I think it is a hell of a deal for a fish finder. What do you guys think?

If reliable, this could be a very cool thing. And at that price, a helluva bargain too. Have to keep an eye out for this when it hits the market.

Ehhhh. I'm kind of ify with this. It would work great if you are bank fishing..... but I cant see it being that handy on a boat. Plus the 6 hour battery life could be an issue. They aways say it has more life then it really does so I am guessing it would only last 4 hours. You can buy the plane jane boat fish finders for that price. So ya it would work good for shore or kayak.....

Good call on the probably actual battery life. However, if bank or boat fishing, wouldn't you use it sparingly? You'd find the depth and the schools you were looking for, then you reel in this thing, then you could charge it while you fished that spot. I was reading over this thing and you'd have to go out to use it with a very clear cut idea of how you're going to utilize it. Have a plan. Just chucking it out there and fishing around it wouldn't be the best way I wouldn't think. I'll wait to donate and/or purchase it until I see some demos.

I don't if I like some of this new technology? I mean...could Daryl actual catch a blue catfish, and FFE catch a flattie at Branched Oak with these gadgets?...
    Keeper of the Blue Bucket

WORK: is that annoying time between fishing trips.

I guess I'm doing OK, I have 3 pigeons named after me in Japan?

I've been using my Hummingbird "castable" transducer for nearly 20 years. Doesn't look like much different other than the SmartPhone instead of the "box" or the "watch".

Yes, I use it on new lakes/ponds to scan the depths ahead and for structure. Worked AMAZINGLY WELL at the Two Rivers Trout Lake from the shore, and in some coves FROM MY BOAT at area lakes that I wanted to "check" before "driving in"!

It told me the pier at Lake 6/Ft. Kearny was 14' deep at the north rail and there was a hump to the west that dropped quickly to 12'. Yanney Park pier was only 7' off the north rail and quickly over 20' about 10 yards out!

I can locate an isolated tree at Cottonmill in 17' of water without driving over it. Lets me crank the spot before parking on it with the vertical presentation! (OR to park over it to attempt to remove my Rebel Crankbait!)

YES, if you have a "SmartPhone" it should be a BIG ASSIST to your fishing trip. Especially on new waters! From the boat or from the shore.

if nothing else, it adds one more "cool" factor and something fun to play with.
