Planer boards?

I got a new boat and am planning a trip in 2 or 3 weeks and am looking for a set or two of planer boards and got to thinking if anyone has ever made a pair? Rather than spending $40 a pair? I googled it and all I could get to show up were the dual planersm I'm just wondering if I could make the single planer board and have it still function properly! Thanks!

All I can find are doubles, I don't have the setup to run doubles. ANYONE?

I picked up five of various sizes from E Bay last year. Watch carefully what is available, stay away from those who sale at retail price and you can possibly pick up some nice ones. I paid about $5 to $8 each doing this and they work well. Actually three were new still in packages.
