Default Small Child next to a big fish...

I only got one shot today, but I made it count.

funny thing, to me,prior to leaving, I'd taken my bowfishing gear off my Discovery 2 that was maxed out at 30, and put it on my PSE Brute that I tuned down to 50. at 20', the arrow didn't make a clean pass through, Don't think the Discovery 2 would have gotten the job done.
Nonsense, I have not yet begun to defile myself.

    Gone, but never forgotten!

Thats a brute of a fish, well done. I was considering a turkey hunt but I'm putting my reel on my bow tonight....so many nice skewered fish this year.

Well done on several levels, equipment upgrade, nice shot, good fish, child participation, picture, and sharing with others. Well done.

he pretty much saved her life. when the fish came into view, they both began trembling but a well placed arrow pierced the heart of the great fish...

at least that's what i was imagining.

It has not dawned on him that outdoor recreations are essentially primitive, atavistic; that their value is a contrast value; that excessive mechanization destroys contrasts by moving the factory to the woods or to the marsh." -Aldo Leopold

    NICE!!

Big buffs are bad dudes!! Stout bows, good shots, good arrow flight, and alittle luck are about mandatory to get them to the boat consistently.

I had watched countless arrows glance off their sides or STOP DEAD, with nothing more than a big scale to show for it.

Great pic of the small child next to a big fish, holdem (he looks familiar).

Your daughter has a great smile, too. (:

The only decent thing I did when I worked as a postal clerk
Was to haul your picture down off the wall near the cage where I used to work

Another photo-taking tip: To make your fish look even bigger, have a small child hold them (or stand next to them).

    Nicely done, "holdemplyer",

Without trying to hyjack this thread TOO much. I just have to ask a couple of 'innocent' questions. Did your wife get to go with you and your daughter? Is this how you figured out to shoot a bigger carp than your wife, take the daughter and not the wife? Is this how you can prove to your daughter that mommy isn't the only one that can shoot big fish? AND is it just me, or does she look like she is thinking, 'I wonder how much bigger mommy's fish would be if she would have come along?'

Now, I'm almost feeling a little guilty for because your wife is probably the one taking the picture doing her best to make sure your daughter sees that daddy can shoot big fish too.....

Seriously, nice fish, and thanks for sharing!!

Very nice Alex! Its about time.
I spent all day on the lake fishing, drinking beer, and telling jokes with my buddies... how about a little me time?

The only reason I got to shoot this one was, I got lucky. The girls and I walked from one lake to another, while Nicole grabbed the vehicle, rods and reels. We got to the other lake first, and as we were walking to the parking lot to meet up with Nicole, I saw it, I shot it. Heck of a fight too! So in short, I got to shoot it because Nicole wasn't there to shoot it.
