    Default Homemade tip down

Surfing the web today saw a video on crappiefishing with tip downs. I will probably not use them, but some of you who are not old like me and want to stay inside shelter, might experiment. here is a nice pictorial of a homemade tip down.

What's the advantage to one of these? Never seen one before.

I just made 6 of these last week, they look like they will work great. Came out exactly like his.
If God didn't want us to eat animals, why did he make them out of meat?

Those are my pics in the link, we have been making Tip Downs for 20 years, they also work great for Perch and Walleyes.

These things actually work awesome. We use to use them a lot back in WI before I joined the USAF. We normally tip-up fished for pike but if we werent on a good lake for them we would throw out as many tip downs out as we could. Sometimes you didnt have enough time to jig for crappie, all you were doing was running around with a minnow bucket catching fish and re-rigging them.

He probably had some paint leftover from his bedroom or car. There's nothing wrong with being "thrifty".

I made some of them and they work great on Crappie and Perch. They are very easy to make. Build them and try them out next year.
