Default Put Out Your Flag!

I have surveyed my street this morning and have to say I am extremely disappointed. Not a single house is displaying the American Flag(besides mine) on either side of the street as far as the eye can see.

If you have a flag at home, don't forget to put it out today. Celebrate! It's Independence Day!

Philadelphia July 3d. 1776
...But the Day is past. The Second Day of July 1776, will be the most memorable Epocha, in the History of America. —
I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated, by succeeding Generations, as the great anniversary Festival. It ought to be commemorated, as the Day of Deliverance by solemn Acts of Devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with Pomp and Parade, with Shews, Games, Sports, Guns, Bells, Bonfires and Illuminations from one End of this Continent to the other from this Time forward forever more.
You will think me transported with Enthusiasm but I am not. — I am well aware of the Toil and Blood and Treasure, that it will cost Us to maintain this Declaration, and support and defend these States. — Yet through all the Gloom I can see the Rays of ravishing Light and Glory. I can see that the End is more than worth all the Means. And that Posterity will tryumph in that Days Transaction, even altho We should rue it, which I trust in God We shall not.

I put mine out for the 4th. It was the flag I was given last year at my grandpas funeral from the VFW unit. He fought in WW2 in the pacific war for the Navy. Many great stories. That flag means so much to me. It really means something when its coming from a group of 70-80 year old guys that are crying and can barely talk.

My heart goes out to all our servicemen past and present. The real heroes of this country!

After 9/11 they were all over my neighborhood. I think ours was the only one out on the 4th this year. How soon we forget.
