Creel Restoration Is Doniphan Man's ‘Labor of Love'

LINCOLN, Neb. – Doniphan resident Ken Haggard restores fishing creels that will rest on the collector's shelf, as well as the fly-fisherman's hip. It makes no difference to him. “It's a labor of love,” he said.

Haggard has collected creels since 1978, but he didn't start restoring them until he retired from a banking career in 2005. Now there is a big demand for his creels, which take about two weeks to restore.
