NGPC news release, 10/23/08:
LINCOLN, Neb. -- The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission will conduct prescribed burns on Leonard A. Koziol Wildlife Management Area (WMA) in Howard County, and Davis Creek WMA in Valley County, no later than Nov. 15, according to Mark Feeney, a Commission district biologist. The Commission's goal is to suppress bromegrass, Kentucky bluegrass and eastern red cedar; stimulate native annuals, forbs, grasses and annual weeds; and prepare sites for spring treatments of discing and/or chemical applications for early successional vegetative management.
