LINCOLN, Neb. – Nebraska Game and Parks Commission Director Rex Amack was elected president of the Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies during its annual meeting Sept. 11 in Saratoga Springs, New York. The Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies represents all of the fish and wildlife agencies in North America to promote sound management and conservation. The association speaks with a unified voice on important fish and wildlife issues. “It is an overwhelming privilege and honor to serve as president of the Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies. I look forward to representing every fish and wildlife agency in the country and many in Canada and Mexico assuring that the mission of the association is fulfilled,” Amack said. Amack, who has 41 years of experience with the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission and 2l years as the Commission’s director, will serve for one year The Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies began in 1902 when wildlife managers from six states met in Yellowstone National Park to discuss the status of the nation’s beleaguered fish and wildlife populations. The association represents its members on Capitol Hill and before the Administration on key conservation and management policies.
