Just wondering if a person could kayak the Missouri River at Ponca State Park, and catch fish at the same time. Are there any backwaters up there to fish. I would be afraid to anchor in the fast current and fish.

I have no idea, Kayaker, but I hear ya on the anchoring in fast current. Teeg and I have tried that a few times on the Elkhorn and it's a bit sketchy. If we had ever hooked a fish while anchored like that, it would have been real sketchy. I'm sure there would be safe places to anchor off the fast moving water though.
Make sure to give a report if you give it a shot. ![]()
