Default Archery Range Open at Helen Boosalis Park

NGPC news release, 6/11/08:

LINCOLN, Neb. – A new public archery range at Lincoln’s Helen Boosalis Park, which will be host to the archery competition for the 2008 Cornhusker State Games, now is open.

The range, which is open during daylight hours, offers a 12-station American Target Range, concrete walking paths and shooting line for targets from 10 to 60 yards. It also has two 14-station field ranges.

“The facility has been very well received and public use has exceeded expectations,” said Jeff Rawlinson, assistant administrator of the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission’s Information and Education Division.

The range will be closed to the public on June 14 and July 19-20 for maintenance and July 23-27 for the Cornhusker State Games.

Public entry to the range is granted through a partnership with the Lincoln Trap and Skeet Gun Club. Entry is through the gun club’s parking lot off of 48 Street, just north of Superior Street.

The project is a partnership between the Commission, the City of Lincoln Parks and Recreation, Prairie Bowmen Archery Club and the Lincoln Trap and Skeet Gun Club.

For more information, contact Rawlinson at (402) 471-6133 or jeff.rawlinson@ngpc.ne.gov
