Default Lifetime Permits and Stamps Are Perfect Graduation Gifts

NGPC news release, 5/1/08:

LINCOLN, Neb. -- If you are having trouble deciding on the perfect gift for a friend or relative who is graduating this year, consider buying them the gift of a lifetime, a Nebraska lifetime hunt, fish, or combination hunt-fish permit, migratory waterfowl stamp or a lifetime habitat stamp.

Purchasers of a lifetime fishing, hunting or combination permit at current prices save the cost and obligation of buying a new license each year. A holder of a lifetime permit need only purchase annual stamps required for specific fish and game.

Lifetime hunt, fish or combination hunt-fish permits, migratory waterfowl stamps and lifetime habitat stamps are available to both residents and nonresidents.

Lifetime permits may be purchased at any Nebraska Game and Parks Commission office. Lifetime permit prices are figured on a sliding scale pricing structure based on the applicant’s age. A lifetime permit price chart can be found on the Commission’s Web site at Nebraska Game and Parks Commission - Contact Resources Page.

There is no age limit on lifetime permits, so proud parents or grandparents can get one for a new baby if they wish.

Lifetime permits are not valid for big-game hunting in Nebraska. Individuals must still follow regular application procedures and pay the appropriate fee for the special permits for hunting deer, antelope, turkey, elk and bighorn sheep.

Anyone may purchase a lifetime permit as a gift for someone else. However, they must provide all of the vital information requested on the application form, including the recipient’s Social Security number. It is not necessary to obtain the recipient’s signature. In this case the donor may sign instead.
