Default Pond tarp

Anybody know where to find small sections of heavy duty tarp like what they use in some of these lakes? I was thinking it might be a good alternative to chemicals for making small pockets in the weeds to fish. Anyone have any experience with this?

"Engineering cloth" is some of the matting/tarp we have used on some of our aquatic habitat rehabilitation projects. I cannot tell you where the contractors get the stuff, but that is what it is called.

Plain old tarp would work for what you are thining about. The problem with any of that is weighing it down so it stays on the bottom and stays where you want it.

Hope that helps.

To save money I am wondering if landscape fabric doubled up would last a couple of years? I really just wanted to open up a couple spots in the coontail to fish for perch in july without using chemicals.

Beachcomber Lake Rake

The Beachcomber Lake Rake is a convenient means of mechanically removing weeds and algae from your water body. The rake has a 36" head with 8" flexible plastic tines for easy removal of the most dense plants and algae. The rakes handle is approximately 4' long. The rake comes with nylon rope attached to both ends of the rake for use with two people. A float set can also be purchased for removing floating algae and vegetation.
