Here's a tree structure link. I won't use them since I'm using PVC but there's some good info in the link.

I've had pretty good luck with pallets. I made some crappie beds (pictures of them being sank at the beginning of the thread). I've caught a bunch of bass, couple big cats, and some nice walleye on them so far but very few crappie.

My Brother and I fished the "Space Station" Structure yesterday. WOW! The Hybred gills were all over the thing. They were cruising around it and came in squadrons. The bass were also showing up. I caught some crappie towards sundown both on the bottom and also suspended. We tried other areas of the lake but always ended up back on the structure. We used small green jigs and waxies, berkley waxies and the new bigger Hold'em Red Beaded Crappie Hammer.

he MA MACHINE

good stuff, i do not normally get on this site much bc I have moved to the kansas city area......here are some suggestions on pvc structures.....we sink these:
Another lil ole build - Crappie.com

very easy to build and they pop out of the dishpans like icecubes out of an icetray

also we use these guys:
Porcupine Fish Attractor

the porcupines are a little pricey, you can get them at cabelas, 3 balls for around 30 bucks.....the pvc though you can get for free......call your local HVAC company or plumbing company.....they have so much scrap pvc its ridiculous!

one other suggestion, you do not have to paint the pvc. in about a week if you were to pull up what you have sunk you will notice that your white pvc is no longer white......algae quickly covers the piping and before long the whole thing will be a greenish brownish mass.....and the bait fish love it!

our structures hold some pretty nice fish!

GOod luck, and man I miss fishing those ponds/lakes back in Nebraska.....no one around, fresh air, silence........love it!

A couple PVC trees the kids and I built a couple weekends ago. They were really fun to build. Definitely going to make some more of them.

one thing that will save your buckets is:

Go to Dollar General and get yourself some 9 x 13 dish pans (the plastic square buckets people use to collect dishes) http://webpages.charter.net/ppkofuga...er/DishPan.JPG

fill that up with cement, leave a little room at the top, and it works like an ice cube tray.....all you have to do is bend it a little like youre popping ice cubes out of a plastic ice cube tray, and the cured concrete comes right out.....you can reuse the dish pan many many times

also, I have been researching pvc structures and guys are starting to build them just like yours except they are angling the "limbs" at angles upward.

Instead of drilling two holes opposite each other and sliding a piece through, drill one hole at a sharp angle down towards the base of the structure, insert pvc "limb" and secure

Here is my 4th grade drawing = )

Cool. I think I've seen something like that before. It was suggested to me to make even smaller branches on these since they're spaced out a bit much for the smaller fish varieties. May or may not give that a shot. Can't screw them up since you don't see them right? Have you seen a pond bush? Check this out from a post at Pond Boss...

I really like that! I'll give one a try.

Thanks. I misjudged the amount of Quikcrete a single bag would make so we ended up with only 6 inches approx. in each bucket. I thought I'd have to mix some more up, but the next day they were set really well. Not going anywhere. Can't wait to place them and even more anxious to fish them. I can only imagine what my neighbors think right now though.

Something is working. The gills have gone from skinny 7's to 8 and 9 + fatties. The GSF/BG's are really getting fat and staying that way all year. The structure is holding fish. All of these are over 9.

if i remember right, you used PVC this go around correct?

I love pvc, as stated above, you are going to be so so happy, if not already, you did......

any structure is good structure, but pvc will save you mucho dolares when it comes to lost lures!
