Other day had 4 small ducks come in that looked like teal at first. I let them land. I shot once and got one.

Ended up being a hen ruddy duck. Never even seen one before. Anyone else get one? I didnt see any blue beaks in the group but the male looks awesome!

I have killed afew Ruddies over the years. Never actually had one come in and land or even saw one fly. Just be sitting in the dekes when we got there.

I dont shoot em anymore cause they kinda remind me of fuzzy baby Mallards and they taste worse than Redheads.

So your'e saying Ty shot a young mallard that couldn't fly and was just lookin' for its mama??:d :d Or,is it Ty is willing to eat anything?? :zwhist: :zcoffee: :d Help me out with the understanding.

I used to see a lot of them in the sandhills south of Valentine hunting with my dad as a kid. They always seemed to hang out with the buffleheads. Darn things!

im a duck hunter...... so I shoot ducks. Why not shoot them when they are close.
