Who's chasing pheasants this coming weekend? Obviously I'll be out there. How about you?

I'll be out there with my father and uncle Saturday morning. In the afternoon it might be a little tough with the warmer weather (50+ degrees) to hunt with out a dog to keep the birds sittin tight.

I'll be heading out with my Dad, Brother and probably a couple of cousins Saturday. Opening day is quite a tradition in my family. I'm getting pretty antsy to make some feathers fly!

I'm down. I work 7-4 weekdays but the weekends if I'm not going with my father, I'd be down for hunting some ditch parrots and bob whites. Let me know and I will head out with you.

Went out yesterday to knock a few bluerock out of the sky. Then we ran the dogs a little (mine pointed a hen) I'm ready. Just kind of bums me out that my dog is 11 years old and her field time will be very limited this year.

I figured as much . Take advantage of the prime land you have access to. I'm still amazed at what we've seen there...Unreal...just unreal .

That some great stuff, South! Thanks for sharing. Can't wait to look at my pictures, too...when I get old .

Seriously, though, pretty cool. Thanks for sharing.

I've only missed one since 1974, in '97 I was busy helping turn the power back on so you'd have lights and heat after the ice storm.
What kind of gun is that in your first picture? It looks very similar to a Montgomery Ward Hawthorne 16 ga in my closet.

Heading out with the neighbors. We got 21 opening day last year. This year the same areas we have already scouted out and they look even more promising than they did last year...saw a ton of birds in there earlier a couple weeks ago when we were looking for fox and coyote sign for the trapline.
I can't wait...gonna take out the old single .410 this year, too. If weather is nice, as it looks to be, and as it was last year on opener, we had so many close shots it should be a lot of fun.
