James,
Good pic. I can see my old apartment. From my deck we could look over the houses and see the water. Took the occasional late night drunken swim in there, amazing how shallow that place is/was. ![]() |

James,
I can see my old apartment in that pic of Capitol Beach. Man, that was a good place to live, off the deck you could see over the houses to the lake. The only view better was the one at the pool. Took a couple late night swims in the lake, amazing how shallow it is/was. |

I kinda figured that this thread would go the direction that it did. There used to be a guy around who could draw you a map to a good catfishing spot not to far from capital beach.

OBG how far is that from NPPD property? Just curious, cause I probaly have driven past it hundreds of times on my way to and from work, and there are alot of big bucks in the area that work the federal land by the river, also lots and I mean lots of turkeys, one day between the bluff and the river I counted 150+ birds, it was insane... something like that could be fun with a full auto... Me I hunt alot of southeast Nebraska, just get out and talk to farmers, the worst they can do is tell you no. I have found that alot of them will allow access if you are kind and ask for permission rather than forgiveness, also sometimes it helps to bring over some birds, venison, fish, ect...

There's not a deer behind every tree because the turkeys have elbowed some of them out...
