Default Atlantic Flyway update..

Started out the day goosin at a likely spot but were snakebit by fog. When it finally burned off enough to get the birds moving, we stood up in the boat for a leg stretch and found 2 kayakers appropriately camo'd in red and yellow kayaks eyeing our decoys from 100 yards away.. Apparently they thought they were viewing nature!! The big foots on the bar really had them faked out. We picked up and called it a morning.
In the afternoon, I took a ride to the bay, Merrymeeting of course, and was treated to a few thousand ducks taking flight out of the rice as I putted by!
If anyone thinks there shouldn't be a second black duck added to the limit, I'll gladly take them for a boat ride this next week and convince them otherwise.
There were probably between 3000 to 5000 blacks in the rice south of Browns Point near the refuge. also a couple thousand teal and a ton of mallards thrown in. What a sight!! I've never seen so many blacks.!
Here's the highlight reel!!

Great pictures. Ha Ha Ha Ha, I've never seen a poodle hunting dog before. Ha ha ha. I Don't mean to be insulting, cause I have a poodle mix and love it, but you just don't see hunting dogs with afro's!

YOU definitely have a gift with the camera....good shots all!

Great pics. Love the poodle, grew up with them in the house -- good dogs.

Any big bass hiding it that waterway?

Yes!! Striped Bass! Merrymeeting fills up with Stripers all summer as they follow the alewifes and herring up the rivers to spawn.

Largemouths and Smallies in there too. Better up river for them than in the bay..
