My father just bought a reloading press and was wondering what’s a good company who makes Die Sets???? We have everything but a 25-06 Die Set…
Thanks for everyone’s help... Nate

For reloading the 25-06, i use the lee pacesetter dies since they are very affordable, do a great job and also come with the factory crimp that i believe helps me get consistent groups out of all of the loads I use for my ruger M77.
my brother uses RCBS, but for some reason the sizing die bows out the neck and i have told him this is not safe. My Lee dies have not failed me and i've loaded about a thousand rounds with them. I'm sure Hornady and RCBS will be mentioned in this post but frankly, I don't see the need for the expense since my buddy uses lee for his 25-06 and he's constantly shooting great groups and he kills deer with it as well. |

Cool, I have never personnel reload rifle rounds. I know you have to inspect your brass but what is the average a shell will last? Does it matter what kind of gun you use? If so I shoot a T/C Encore Pro Hunter 28" Heavy Barrel Fluted, and use 115 grain bullets.

Support your local Nebraskans and buy Hornady. I've loaded thousands of rounds with them, including hundreds of 25-06.

Gun doesn't really matter until you find what it likes best. No need for a crimp unless you are shooting a semi auto. If you feel the need to crimp, make sure they are all trimmed to the same length each time or you will end up buckling(sp?) the cases. What are you going to be shooting at??

I have been handloading since the early 80's and have used RCBS, Lee and Hornady. I really like the Hornady die sets and prefer them over any other sets I have used. But don't be shy about using the Lee's or RCBS if they have what you want in a certain caliber.
Watch the necks as they will tend to split first and the number of times you get from a case in reloads verys greatly from caliber to brass manufacturers. It also really depends on your own case handling and prep as well as to how hot your loading them. Also be sure to check the bottom of the case just forward of the case head as this is a place that can also fail with hotter or magnum loadings. You will somtimes begin to see a bright ring in this location that may indicate a possible head failure due to the brass becoming fatigued and stretching. One thing you maybe able to do is neck size the case only, (as opposed to full length resizing) as this will aid you greatly in keeping the brass from becoming fatigued as quickly.
