I have stayed in them also and they are just as yellab described. It is really kinda cool because some of the larger buildings have alot of history to them. That would be the route I would go you can't go wrong with them.

Also do you guys that hunt/hunted out that way, would you get a long sleeve tee or a short sleeve?

Personally, I am all about concealment when it comes to bowhunting pronghorns. I would definitely go with the Longsleeve for the spot and stalk. I use a lightweight 3-d suit. If your sitting in a blind, then I would wear as little as possible, possibly only a thong!

I was also looking at the digital camo too. There is an army surplus near here and I believe they had some in the sportsman's guide. I figure if they use it to protect their lives it might just work for hunting.

Do they make thongs in camo color?

Gregg, I agree with yellab on the long sleeves for spot and stalk. As far as which camo, Mossy Oak Brush. It comes the closest to the terrain you'll be hunting. I think the other western camo patterns rely to much on sagebrush. There is'nt a whole lot of sagebrush in the grasslands. One more word of advice. If you wear that thong in the blind, don't sit on a wooden seat.

Ended up with a pair of MO Brush pants for 20 and long sleeve tee for $15. Little concerned about travel out there. Sounds like some fires and really dry. Hopefully we can get on some spots. Planning on doing a ton of walking the way it is now. We'll see I guess. Ah well, at least I won't be at work.

I think water is going to be your ticket out there. Its dryer between Alliance and Lusk than I have ever seen it. Your going to be shocked at how brown everything is. The desert west of casper was greener than the pastures around crawford.

We're going to spend a lot of time Th morning looking for water. Leaving W night, I can hardly contain myself.

Going to pack up today so I can pack the stuff I would have forgotten the next two days. Fill it up with gas, grab my notebook and camera and I'm good to go.

Anyone live or been out to Crawford in the last couple days? Looks like it may have been raining and has a pretty good chance until Wed for moisture. Looks like it will be pretty warm when we are out there as well. 90+ each day.

Unsuccessful. Had 1 shot, over the top. It was tough, quite the trip though. Will post a story here soon.

I was out there the first weekend you were there. I think I saw your camp site near toadstool. We saw alot of antelope. My friend got a nice buck that measured about 15 inches. We are planning another trip at the beginning of Oct. Will it be too late in the season to decoy? It seemed too early before. They didn't seem too interested, even though the one we got came in to a decoy.

I went for first time 3 seasons ago and only got 1 shot and missed. You really don't realize how small they are until they are 30 yds away!

I shot one back in the 80's but the meat tasted nasty so i never went again. Hunted them in WY.

That meat stunk up the whole kitchen when we cook it
