Was so close on a turkey tonight......6 yards out of the blind. I drew back, aimed, shot. Sounded like a great hit. A nice loud thump, but the tom didn't do anything. Stopped strutting, looked around then just left, unharmed. I guess i must have just grazed the top of him. Oh well though, was a great hunt. I got a few pics of our setup during the downtime.

My friend and I were hunting on opening morning. We had our backs to a fence with trees behind us and our decoy set out in the pasture. Two toms walked right behind us darn near brushing our backs. They just didn't want to come out of the trees and I don't think I could have turned around fast enough to shoot without spooking them. Going to give it a try again this weekend. Hope for better luck. Quite a thrill none the less.

my brother and i had two gobblers within 50 yards, and then the big boy ghosted in from the west and chased them all off the property we could hunt. so i can sorta feel your pain.
