Default Bow Buck (Story/Pics)

I didnt get these up right away obviously but anyways the last three days of bow season before rifle season opened up i requested off. I knew the rut was going nuts and i HAD to be out there. So wednesday i went out all day, seen a few but nothing too out of the ordinary. Thursday i had an exam at ten in the morning so i couldnt get out for the morning hunt, but i made it a point that i was going to be out there right after my exam was over, and sure enough i was sitting in the tree at 1o'clock. i sat in the tree for two hours just relaxing before i saw my first deer. at about 310 a buck came out of the creek to the west of me. i could tell he was pretty decent but i didnt make the decision to shoot him until i saw his width, he came my way then continued to make his way south (away from me) i grunted at him, he would look but he didnt pay too much attention to it, this buck was panting just like he had just got done running a marathon obviously from chasing does. he continued south until i snort wheezed at him, he whipped his body around and walked right into me. he came into 17 yards, i drew back my hoyt, released the shot and was disgusted on my impact point....i hit him in the guts. i knew the best thing was to give him time, and thats what i did, i gave him three hours until me and my cousin started to track the blood trail. we tracked blood for two hours and about 800 yards until finally we heard rustling in the dark woods ahead of us..........i thought '' we just bumped my buck'' until i shined the light ahead of us in the woods and saw his legs moving and body rolling over...that was when i knocked an arrow and had to put one more arrow in him to finish him, this whole hunt was so surreal, it was one of the most amazing experiences i've had in the woods, he isnt the biggest buck in the woods but i am more than happy with him!! God i love bowhunting!!

Nice deer!
You couldn't be more right with the "ruttin" deer. Everything buck we have seen has been "active" with some does...
