Default Anyone hear of this monster yet?

Supposed to be a 38 pointer from the weekend. At least it has a Nebraska plate on the truck.

Yeah it sounds like its true from what I hear. Think it was shot near Rulo by a guy from Texas. Heck of a buck.

Pic was taken at schramm. The buck was taken down by Rulo from what I've been hearing. Should challenge the old state record, and right now I believe the buck was scored unofficially at 278 or somewhere around there. Its truly an amazing deer.

Here's a couple more pix.
292 is supposed to be the gross score.
The hunter is supposed to be from Lexington, NE and the head is supposed to be on display at Obrien's Meat Market in Taylor, NE.
There's a lot of varying info being circulated at the moment concerning this monster. In time I'm sure all the correct info will be released from some type of media outlet.

mmm...That gross score seems to be getting higher. I've seen emails that said 268, then 278, now 292.

I've also seen at least one email that said it was shot by someone from Avoca, NE .

After reading that texas forum, I bet he is from Lexington, Texas. Not NE.

I know a guy who was at the deer check station at Mahoney State Park when this deer was brought in. According to Dave the guy who shot this brute is in his 20's. When he was there about 60 people were around him congratulating him with his buck. Apparently he and his deer will be in December's Nebraska Land magazine.

I thought there was no big deer in Nebraska. Everybody shoots the dinks and nothing gets big.

That's nice. Congrats to him. Finding a place in Eastern Nebraska to hunt just got a little bit harder.

Now for a rant. I am a claims adjuster for an insurance company. This year we have literally had double the deer hits that we have had previous years. The state has to work out something with private land owners so that the numbers of especially whitetails can be curbed. The majority of highways in Nebraska parallel rivers. This is where the whitetail numbers are concentrated. Most of the land is privately held in some nature. Either it is leased and a couple hunters take a couple of deer from the property or the owners shoot a buck or two, while each doe drops two fawns. I feel like I have done my part. My son and I each try shot a doe before we shoot a buck. Archery, rifle and I will hunt muzzle loader. Anyway, I guess there probably is some carrying capacity before the landowners get tired of the deer. Until then we will be busy with deer hits. That is unless the G & P drops more Mountain Loins from black helicopters.

Kidding..

Dont be too surprised if some legal matters happen because of this deer, thats all I am going to say for the time being.
