Default Skinning deer the easy way

Most of you probably know this already but for those that don't. A very easy way to skin your deer in less than 10 min.
1. cut legs off at knees.
2. cut up from brisket to neck, and then around neck.
3. skin part way down neck, about 10"
4. tie head to truck bumper or something solid
5. fold baseball (or something small and hard) in hide on back of neck
6. tie rope (or chain) around ball and hook to another truck
7. pull slowly. Peels off like a bannana

No need to cut hide up each leg either, it will come off.

I did this to mine tonight and it works wonderfully. had the hide pulled off in less than 10 min. I've also done this by hanging them in a tree or barn, that way they are hanging when you get the hide off and don't risk getting dirt on them.

I think there is a vidio about this on You Tube also.

we did this to 2 deer last year, and had both of them skinned in under 5 minutes. It works real slick

We've been doing this 20 or years. It's the best and fastest way to pull a hide.

Do you bone them out still hanging by the neck or turn them over?

you would have probably have to hang it by the neck. Ive never tried it before. If I had a good place to hang it where I know it would be solid and not get dirty id do it but really skinning a deer the regular way doesnt take that long.

While hanging we remove the back straps and tenderloins, then remove the legs, and neck roasts. It's really is a great way to pull hides and remove the meat.

I was just thinking how I could do this without hanging it (if you don't hav solid place to hang it). You could probably do it horizontally if you laid a tarp under the deer. Rope the head off to a solid anchor (like the base of a tree), and pull it.

I might have to try that. Whats the worst that can happen?...Rip a deer in half?

I have a deer im doing right now that the guy wants it caped out. But if he didnt I would sure give it a try. I really dont want to pull on it while its hanging from a garage truss stud. Sounds like a "Hey watch this!" redneck moment to me. haha

I do have 2 does to do Friday though so will there be a lot of pressure pulling on that stud to where you would trust it?

I tied mine to my truck and pulled it with another truck. Laid the tarp on the ground so it didn't get dirty. If you need my truck, give me a call.

Thanks, whatever I can do to save time. Wife says she wants to muzzleloaer hunt this year. So there may be more deer than I want to spend time on. Of course she's already bugging me about getting a heater for the ground blind.

i always use my wife's Sport Ute as an anchor, and pull with my truck -- not even pull, really, just roll down the driveway in neutral. but i do put the parking brake on in her truck. slickest trick i've ever seen!

That's the first thing that I thought of when I read this post... Someone is just gonna hang it from the trusses in their garage and bring the whole damn thing down... Hope they get it on video...

HAHA, I have been cracking up reading this. How redneck does it sound when you say I hooked my deer up to one truck and pulled it with another. I love it!
